The Public Research Foundation (KAV), headquartered in Ankara, was established on December 1, 1995, and began its operations. The Foundation’s purpose is to to contribute to the balanced development of our country—in harmony with its existing natural, economic, and human resources—by helping our people adapt to evolving global conditions within the context of the rapid economic and social transformation our nation is undergoing, while maintaining a connection to their fundamental historical, social, and cultural values; To identify the bottlenecks faced by all segments of society and the public sector in Turkey from historical, social, economic, and cultural perspectives; to highlight the related problem areas; and to ensure that the public, the media, and relevant public authorities are informed about existing issues and potential solutions. To contribute to the raising of healthy, balanced, and cultured generations that will serve as the guarantee of the future, within the framework of our country’s historical and social heritage and cultural values. To conduct research on identifying appropriate solutions from among potential opportunities to overcome the political, economic, and administrative bottlenecks faced by society—and particularly the public sector—and to resolve existing problems, To propose solutions aimed at improving public administration and accelerating comprehensive development by rationally evaluating the economic and social resources our country possesses, both collectively and individually, and mobilizing potential resources, and to make the findings of these studies and research, along with proposed models, available for the benefit of individuals, organizations, and public authorities. Within the Foundation, Directorates of Public Administration, Economics, Social Structure and Development, and Science and Technology have been established, and research activities are ongoing in these fields.KAV also organizes educational seminars on issues related to public policies, as well as nationwide conferences and discussion meetings that bring together experts in the fields of health, tourism, environment, politics, rural development, and science and technology. Research, symposia, congresses, joint projects, and publication activities are carried out in collaboration with various public institutions and civil society organizations. In addition, scholarships are provided to university students, and advisory services are offered at the undergraduate and graduate levels, along with guidance on book and research topics. Finally, the Public Research Foundation has established project teams in numerous areas of national concern, including human rights, public health, and science and technology, and is conducting project work with these teams to address existing issues.
